Please join us on Wednesday, May 6th when we welcome to our stage Margaret Trudeau in conversation with broadcaster Valerie Pringle as they explore child and youth mental health issues.

In 1971, at age 22, Margaret Trudeau became the youngest First Lady in the world when she married Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. She has led a rich and interesting life, having raised five children and travelled the country and the world extensively. After leaving her marriage in 1977, Margaret went on to become a photographer, actress, writer and television host. She has authored two books, Beyond Reason and Consequences.

Valerie Pringle hosted daily news and current affairs programs on CFRB Radio then on CBC-TV’s MIDDAY and finally CTV’s Canada AM from 1980 to 2001. Since becoming a freelance broadcaster she has produced and/or hosted many series and documentaries including Valerie Pringle Has Left the Building, The Canadian Antiques Roadshow, Test of Faith, Rude: Where are your Manners?, After the Fall and Kilimanjaro: The Meaning of the Mountain for Discovery Channel, CTV, CBC and Vision TV. Valerie has been nominated for 7 Gemini Awards and she was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2006
