Charlene Theodore is a globally recognized executive, lawyer, and strategic advisor known for her leadership at the intersection of law, workplace culture, and business transformation. She is the Principal and Founder of Theodore Advisory Partners, a firm specializing in culture strategy, human capital transformation, and leadership advisory for Boards, General Counsel, and C-suite executives.
With over two decades of experience, Charlene advises organizations navigating complex change—helping them reduce turnover, mitigate litigation risk, and attract and retain top talent by building workplaces where people and performance thrive. Her unique approach integrates her deep expertise in labour and employment law, human capital strategy, and inclusive governance to deliver results that align culture with business imperatives.
Charlene previously served as the Chief Inclusion Officer at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, where she led the firm’s award-winning Inclusion Now strategy—one of the first initiatives in North America to successfully embed inclusion directly into business operations and client service. She made history as the first Black President of the Ontario Bar Association, where she launched the Work that Works initiative to transform the future of work and equity in the legal profession.
