Moving Forward with Ontario's Fair Housing Plan

Housing is essential for everyone, yet too many people are being affected by the growing pressures of trying to buy a home or afford their rent. Join us on March 7th, when the Honourable Peter Milczyn, Minister of Housing, discusses the housing market and the work Ontario’s government is doing to increase housing supply and make it easier to buy or rent a home.

Peter Milczyn was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2014 as the MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore. Milczyn currently serves as Minister of Housing, as well as Minister Responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy. He was previously Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Labour, as well as to the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs. Prior to that, he was Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, focusing on Infrastructure.

Milczyn graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Architecture in 1989, and went on to found PZM Design, which focused on both private and public projects. He served as the Executive Director of Tatry Non-Profit Housing Corporation in Mississauga from 1993-1994. His interest in urban planning led him into municipal politics. He was elected as a councillor in the former City of Etobicoke in 1994, and later continued to represent Etobicoke on Toronto City Council for fourteen years. Milczyn is fluent in Polish and French. He grew up in Mimico and is a lifelong resident of Etobicoke, where he and his wife are proudly raising their daughter.
