What the army can teach us about leadership.

Stanley McChrystal is one of the most respected military leaders in post-9/11 America and he now applies his experience to the business world. He not only led the Joint Special Operations Command in Iraq during the Persian Gulf Wars, he was top Commander of American and coalition forces (including our own) in Afghanistan.

While his subject draws on his 34 years of military service, it reveals how traditional ideas of teamwork, honed in the military, can work in powerful new ways in current business environments that can resemble a battlefield.

His new book, Team of Teams, has already drawn rave reviews from the likes of Walter Isaacson, Charles Duhigg and Daniel Levitin. Join us in a joint presentation with RamsayTalks to hear McChrystal discuss what the army can teach us about leadership.

Reviews:

“In addition to being a fascinating and colorful read, this book is an indispensable guide to organizational change.” – Walter Isaacson, from the foreword

“This is a bold argument that leaders can help teams become greater than the sum of their parts.” – Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit

“Team of Teams is erudite, elegant, and insightful. An unexpected and surprising wealth of information and wonder, it provides a blueprint for how to cope with increasing complexity in the world. A must read for anyone who cares about the future-and that means all of us.”

Daniel Levitin, author of The Organized Mind
