Mr. Brison will provide a review of the government’s economic record since taking office, an outline of the direction of the Canadian economy, and ideas about how to help the middle class and those seeking to join it.

Bio


Scott Brison is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Kings-Hants. He was first elected to the House of Commons in June 1997 and currently serves as the Liberal Finance Critic and Vice-Chair of the House of Commons Finance Committee.


Scott is Co-Chair of Justin Trudeau’s Economic Council of Advisors. He is also a member of the Trilateral Commission and an alumnus of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leaders. During the previous Liberal government, Scott served as Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Receiver General of Canada.


Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance from Dalhousie University and has completed an executive education program in leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. He has had extensive private sector experience in private equity and investment banking and currently serves as Chairman of SeaFort Capital.


Scott and his partner, Maxime, live in Cheverie, Nova Scotia, with their twin daughters Claire and Rose. In his spare time, Scott enjoys reading to his daughters, running, kayaking, skiing, and growing apples and grapes.
